Rainflow is a unique perennial variety resulting from the crossbreeding of Dianthus Sweet Wivelsfield and Dianthus superbus. The plant reaches a height of up to 40 cm, has a cushion-like stem, and narrow, long leaves with a silvery tint. Flowers appear in spring and continue to bloom almost continuously until September, creating a bright rainbow of white, pink, raspberry, and lavender petals. Five-petaled blooms have a fringed texture with finely cut edges, giving them a fluffy look.
Rainflow attracts bees and butterflies thanks to its sweet aroma reminiscent of jasmine. Flowers can be single-bud or two-colored, and their bright shades make the plant an excellent choice for creating perennial borders, Mediterranean gardens, and decorative compositions. Thanks to high frost resistance down to -40 °C, this variety grows easily in various climatic conditions.
Care for the carnation is simple: it prefers sunny places and well-drained soils, but is undemanding. This makes Rainflow an ideal option for both experienced florists and beginners. The plant is also suitable for cutting, allowing its use in live bouquets and compositions.
