Caraway SYBIER

Practical Application of the 'Sibiryak' Variety

The 'Sibiryak' caraway variety, developed by the VILAR Research Institute, is a specialized cultivar focused on stable yields of aromatic and medicinal raw materials. Its compact growth habit (reaching a height of 25–40 cm) allows for high-density planting, which is vital for commercial medicinal herb farms.

Key Agrotechnical Features

• Purpose: Cultivation for high-quality pharmaceutical raw materials and essential oil extraction.
• Growth habit: The low stature of the plant minimizes lodging during heavy rainfall, simplifying the harvesting process.
• Uniformity: Designed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, the variety offers predictable development stages for efficient industrial processing.

When cultivating 'Sibiryak', the primary goal is the timely harvest of seeds with peak essential oil content. Its genetic resilience to temperature fluctuations makes it a reliable choice for regions where stable production is needed for food or pharmacological manufacturing. Farmers value this variety for its uniform seed maturation, which allows for consolidated harvesting schedules, reducing potential field losses.

By choosing 'Sibiryak', producers gain a reliable, science-backed variety that balances yield efficiency with the high-quality requirements of the medicinal herb market. It remains a practical solution for agricultural operations looking for consistent output with manageable field maintenance.
