SYBIER is black caraway (Carum carvi L.), grown in Siberia and Central Asia, known for its aromatic properties and wide range of applications.
The plant resembles a bushy shrub up to 40 cm high with thin branches and small leaves. The fruits are large multi-seeded pods containing triangular seeds that look like little pyramids. The seeds have a slightly bitter taste reminiscent of dill and pepper, yet they are rich in vitamins, minerals, and essential oils.
Caraway is widely used as a spice in cooking: added to salads, stews, side dishes, meat dishes, soups, and baked goods. The seeds are also used to flavor cheeses and confectionery products. For medicinal purposes, the seeds can be chewed or used as oil.
The benefits of black caraway include strengthening the immune system, analgesic effects, supporting liver and kidney function, anti-cancer properties, aiding in anemia, allergies, and asthma, as well as improving digestion.
