Galyanovsky Semko is a variety of cumin with a vegetation period of 93 to 97 days. In the first year, the plant forms a dense rosette of leaves and a root crop, while in the second year it begins to produce flowering stalks and form seeds. The stems are erect, branched, furrowed and hollow, reaching a height of 30 to 80 cm.
The cumin leaves of Galyanovsky Semko are alternate, bright green, and small white flowers add decorative value. Young shoots and leaves are widely used in cooking as a spicy seasoning, giving dishes a characteristic aroma and taste. The most valuable are the seeds: they are used to flavor homemade baking, pickling, and other traditional recipes.
Cumin seeds contain essential oils that have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, making them a popular ingredient in folk medicine. Due to these characteristics, Galyanovsky Semko is valued both in gastronomy and in medical practice.
