Caraway Peresvet

A robust caraway variety for consistent yields

The «Peresvet» caraway variety is a product of Russian breeding science, specifically developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production. Unlike intensive hybrids that demand specific, often costly, growing conditions, Peresvet is bred for adaptability and reliability in temperate climates. It is the preferred choice for producers who prioritize cost-efficiency and steady quality over the high-risk investment of imported varieties.

Key Advantages and Use Cases

• Aromatic Profile: The essential oil content meets the strict requirements of the spice and herbal industries, ensuring a high-value final product.
• Resilience: The plant exhibits strong resistance to temperature fluctuations throughout the growing season, which is vital for securing a consistent harvest.
• Versatility: This variety is well-suited for both culinary production and pharmaceutical extraction, thanks to its stable chemical composition.

Performance and Management

Peresvet stands out due to its predictable nature. While it does not require complex inputs, it does demand disciplined management. A critical factor for growers is the harvesting phase: like most caraway varieties, Peresvet is prone to seed shedding if left in the field past peak maturity. Proper timing of the harvest is essential for minimizing post-harvest losses. This variety is ideal for farms focusing on the local production of quality spices, offering a balance between traditional breeding stability and modern standards for essential oil production.
