Mikhnevskaya

Mikhnevskaya — a mid-season variety of red cabbage intended for fresh consumption and medium-term storage. The head has a round-flat shape, is compact and of medium density, weighing from 1.5 to 2.0 kg. The leaves are colored in a rich purple hue with a waxy coating, and upon cutting the head, a bright purple shade is revealed with a small central core. This variety is distinguished by high yield and resistance to cracking, ensuring the preservation and market appearance of the product.

Mikhnevskaya is well adapted to various climatic conditions, showing relative heat tolerance and cold hardiness. However, the variety is less resistant to bacterial soft rot and clubroot. Thanks to high market qualities and good transportability, the cabbage maintains freshness and attractiveness during transport and storage. During the winter period, the harvest can be stored until March, which makes this variety one of the best for long-term storage.

For growing the variety, it is recommended to use seedlings sown in the third decade of March and transplanted to open ground in early May according to a 50x60 cm scheme. The best conditions for growth are slightly acidic, fertile loams with good drainage. Regular watering and feeding are required during active growth and head formation. Harvest is usually carried out in August. Red cabbage Mikhnevskaya is not only tasty but also particularly beneficial for diseases of the thyroid gland.
