Larsia F1 cabbage is a medium-maturing hybrid of white cabbage developed by breeders from the Dutch company Seminis. The crop matures 115-120 days after seedling transplanting, but due to its excellent taste and marketable head appearance, harvesting can begin after just 80 days of growth. The plant is characterized by powerful growth vigor and high resistance to high temperatures, allowing it to be grown in various climatic conditions without special care requirements, except for standard procedures for white cabbage.
Cabbage heads have an oval-flat shape, dense structure with thin and long leaves, and a short core. Outer leaves are light green with a waxy coating and slight waviness, while inner leaves are white. The average head weight ranges from 4 to 6 kg, but can reach up to 8 kg under optimal conditions. Larsia cabbage has a high content of dry matter, giving it a sweet taste and making it particularly suitable for pickling, salting, and culinary use, such as preparing stuffed cabbage rolls.
This hybrid is distinguished by high yield and resistance to cracking, ensuring crop safety during transportation without additional measures. Cabbage stores well for several months — up to 4 months for short-term storage and over 6 months under optimal conditions. Thanks to its marketable and taste qualities, as well as versatility, Larsia F1 is considered one of the best varieties for processing and home use.
