Cabbage Cascade

Market-Ready Quality and Storage Stability

The 'Kaskad' leafy cabbage variety is a strategic asset for commercial growers focusing on yield stability and post-harvest performance. One of the standout features of this variety is its inherent resistance to powdery mildew, a critical trait that significantly reduces the reliance on fungicides and lowers overall production costs, ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable crop cycle.

Practical Operations and Commercial Value

Designed with market logistics in mind, 'Kaskad' produces compact, uniform heads weighing between 1.0 and 2.0 kg. This standardized sizing is a significant advantage for automated processing lines and retail packaging, reducing labor costs during harvest.

• Fresh Market: The uniform head size and deep dark-green color appeal directly to retail consumers, making it an excellent choice for immediate sale.
• Processing: Its dense, crisp leaf structure makes it suitable for fresh-cut processing and various industrial culinary applications.
• Long-Term Storage: Developed through rigorous breeding programs at the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, this variety excels in storage. It maintains structural integrity and color intensity long after harvest, allowing growers to leverage seasonal price fluctuations by holding inventory for winter sales.

The variety is highly valued for its logistical efficiency; the density of the heads ensures minimal bruising during transport. By choosing 'Kaskad', agricultural producers benefit from a balanced variety that performs reliably in the field and provides consistent value in the supply chain.
