Description Navajo
Sparagous bean variety Navajo, also known as Nagano, is a medium-maturing bush hybrid developed by the Dutch breeding company Nunhems. This variety is intended for cultivation in open ground and is characterized by high yield — up to 3 kg per 1 m². The plant develops well under hot temperatures, making it an optimal choice for sowing in early to mid-season with harvest during the hottest periods of the year. Pods have a cylindrical shape, length of 12–13 cm, dark green color, and a fruit weight of 200–250 g. Beans are juicy, tender, fiber-free, with a pleasant mild flavor.

The variety exhibits high resistance to diseases, including anthracnose, virus 1, and Pseudomonas, ensuring reliable and stable yields. The bush mass is well-developed with even fruit coverage, facilitating both manual and mechanical harvesting. Due to these qualities, Navajo bean is ideal for fresh market use, as well as processing, including freezing and canning.

Recommended sowing dates are April and May, with seed planting depth of 2–3 cm and spacing of 30x10 cm. The vegetative period is 50–55 days, allowing harvest in June–July. The package contains 100 seeds, convenient for planning plantings. Navajo bean has good transportability, making it attractive for commercial cultivation and marketing.
