KHABAROVSKAYA

The common bean variety Khabarovskaya is a new grain variety created by mass selection from the Rubina variety. This variety is recommended for cultivation in all zones, including the Khabarovsk Territory, and is distinguished by its early maturity – the vegetation period is 74-84 days, which is 6 days earlier than the standard Helia. The plant is a bush of medium height with pink flowers and medium intensity of green leaf coloration. Pods have weak curvature, medium length, and green color, while seeds are red with an elliptical shape in longitudinal section and ring coloration around the hilum matching the seed color. The Khabarovskaya variety differs in high yield – the average seed yield from tests was 23.0 c/ha, with a maximum reaching 28.6 c/ha, which is significantly higher than the standard. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 350 to 525 g, which is approximately 65 g more than the Helia variety. Additionally, protein content in seeds reaches 27.8%, making the bean not only nutritious but also healthy. In terms of taste, the variety received a high rating, confirming its excellent gastronomic properties. The Khabarovskaya bean possesses resistance to a number of diseases, including bean yellow mosaic virus, and is also weakly affected by anthracnose, ascochytosis, and bacteriosis. These characteristics make the variety reliable and promising for growing in various climatic conditions. Thanks to its qualities, the bean is suitable for diverse applications, including consumption as a source of protein and vitamins, as well as for winter preserves.
