Description Tabora
Barley variety Tabora (Talbot) is a bright medium-maturing winter type, developed using modern nanotechnologies by Canadian and American scientists. This variety is distinguished by high resistance to adverse weather conditions, including drought, cold down to -25 °C, as well as fungal diseases. The plant reaches a height of 115-120 cm, has an upright stem with a circumference of about 40 mm, and an ear up to 20 cm long with six rows of grains. The grain is large, golden in color, with a 1000-seed weight of approximately 55 grams, ensuring high quality and attractiveness for use in feed and food purposes. Tabora is characterized by high yield, which under various conditions can reach from 90 to 150 centners per hectare, with a potential yield of about 130 centners per hectare. The vegetation period lasts 85-90 days, allowing effective use of the variety in different climatic zones. The sowing rate is 120-140 kg per hectare, seed planting depth — 3-4 cm. The variety demonstrates high germination (about 96%) and vigor (93%), as well as variety purity at 99%. Due to its resistance to acid rain and soil salinization, Tabora is suitable for cultivation under diverse soil-climatic conditions. For sowing, it is recommended to use Cruiser (thiamethoxam) at a rate of 10 L/ton of seeds, and herbicides if necessary. Fertilizers can be applied before or after sowing, depending on regional specifics and soil composition. Sowing periods vary by region: from mid-February to early May in the south and from late February to late April in the north. Harvesting is conducted from June 10 to July 5. Due to its characteristics and resistance, the Tabora variety is a reliable choice for livestock farming and grain production.
