KOTLASSKIY — a spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety, mid-season and medium-statured, suitable for various regions of Russia, including the North, Northwestern, Central, and Volga-Vyatsky. This variety is characterized by high yield, averaging around 29 centners per hectare, which exceeds that of standard varieties. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 38 to 50 grams, indicating good grain quality. KOTLASSKIY is resistant to lodging and drought at the level of standard varieties, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions.

The variety is recommended for use in grain-fodder and brewing production, highlighting its versatility. However, it has certain susceptibility to diseases: in some regions, high susceptibility to root rots and helminthosporiosis is noted, as well as to striped blotch. Meanwhile, the variety shows high resistance to powdery bunt and moderate resistance to dark brown blotch, which is important for maintaining crop yield and grain quality.
