Description Farama F1
The Farama F1 eggplant is an early-maturing French hybrid with a vegetation period of about 70-80 days. Plants have strong, tall bushes ranging from 45 to 100 cm in height depending on growing conditions. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation both in greenhouse complexes and on open, well-lit, and wind-protected areas. The optimal temperature for growth is between 14 to 30 degrees Celsius, with prolonged heat or frost negatively affecting plant development. Farama F1 prefers fertile, well-loosened soils with high organic matter content.

The eggplant fruits are elongated-cylindrical in shape, with a rich dark-purple, almost charcoal-black skin color. Fruit length is 20-25 cm, weight around 250 grams. The skin is thin but tough, and the flesh is dense, elastic, with a whitish-green hue, low seed count, and absence of bitterness. Due to these qualities, the fruits are versatile in culinary applications: suitable for baking, canning, salads, and appetizers. The hybrid is not prone to breakdown, preserving the dish’s structure after thermal processing.

Farama F1 is characterized by high yield — up to 6 kg per square meter — as well as resistance to mosaic viruses, verticillium wilt, and spider mites. The plant fruits for approximately two months, ensuring a prolonged harvest period. Seeds grown in the Netherlands are recommended to be sown at the end of January to early February for greenhouse or container seedlings. Successful cultivation requires moderate watering and sufficient sunlight. Due to good storability and transportability, the fruits retain their quality during transport and storage.
