Description Mashenka
Dahlia tuberous 'Mashenka' – a popular variety with bright yellow flower heads reaching up to 70 cm in height. Each plant typically forms 9 to 12 double dahlia-like flower heads, creating an impressive and rich composition in the garden.

For successful cultivation, 'Mashenka' is recommended to be planted in a sunny open spot, though it also tolerates light shade well. The optimal soil is light, fertile, with good drainage capacity. It is important not to add organic fertilizers in the year of planting, as this can negatively affect growth and flowering.

Seeds of 'Mashenka' are sown from mid-February to April; planting depth is 0.5 cm. At a soil temperature of around +20 °C, seedlings appear within 7–14 days. After germination, seedlings can be pricked out and grown at a temperature of 12–15 °C. Transplanting seedlings into the ground is usually carried out in the second half of May with an interval between plants of 25–30 cm, which allows for forming neat groups or rows.

The variety blooms from May to September; its disease resistance and good adaptation to various soil conditions make 'Mashenka' an ideal choice for decorating gardens and homesteads. Minimal care and ease of cultivation allow the plant to be used both in open beds and in assembled flowerbeds.
