Aster Mashenka

A Benchmark in Ukrainian Breeding

The 'Mashenka' peony-flowered aster is the result of long-term work by breeders at the Institute of Horticulture of the NAAS. This variety has long established itself in the Ukrainian professional floriculture segment as a benchmark for classic form and stability. Developed by local scientists with a focus on regional climatic conditions, it offers predictable agrotechnical results and resistance to the typical challenges of open-field cultivation.

Agrotechnical Characteristics

The variety belongs to the tall-growing category of the crop, reaching 50–80 cm in height. Its robust peduncle makes the plant suitable not only for landscaping but also for professional cut flower production. The peony-like shape of the inflorescence, with tightly packed petals, ensures excellent transportability and a long vase life.

• Color: saturated yellow, retaining its vibrancy throughout the flowering period.
• Application: creating monochromatic flower beds, borders, and professional floral arrangements.
• Origin: Institute of Horticulture of the NAAS (Ukraine).

The reputation of 'Mashenka' is built on its consistency. The variety responds well to standard fertilizers and requires minimal maintenance while maintaining its distinctive peony-flowered shape. For professional growers, this variety is valued for its ability to form dense, double heads that remain intact even under adverse weather conditions.
