Aster Jackanda

Cultivation Working with "Joconda"

Working with the "Joconda" aster, a variety developed by the Uman National University of Horticulture, requires an understanding of its lifecycle as an annual. Since it does not overwinter, your operational focus is centered on a single, intensive growing season. The plants reach heights of 30-80 cm, providing the flexibility to use them in various landscaping configurations, whether you are aiming for low-profile borders or higher floral displays.

Technical Specifications

• Floral Performance: The semi-spherical flowers, ranging from 8 to 15 cm in diameter, require consistent moisture to maintain their form and vibrant red coloration.
• Utility: This variety is built for performance. It works equally well for immediate landscaping impact in garden beds and for commercial cut flower production.
• Maintenance Cycle: Because the plant is an annual, maintenance is straightforward. At the end of the season, the removal of the plants is simple, allowing for complete soil preparation for the next cycle without the need for winter protection or maintenance.

For optimal results, manage plant density according to your spatial requirements. The "Joconda" is designed to provide high-impact color while minimizing long-term maintenance labor, making it a reliable choice for professional and home gardens alike.
