MIRTO F1 is an early-maturing watermelon hybrid, a variety of Crimson Sweet with round fruit shape and dark green rind. The maturation period ranges from 58 to 65 days after seedling transplantation. The fruits have an oval-round shape and an average weight of 7 to 9 kg, making them easy to harvest and transport. The watermelon rind is of medium thickness—about 15 mm—which provides good protection for the fruits and promotes their long-term storage.
The flesh of the MIRTO watermelon is characterized by dark red color, dense structure, and lack of fibers, ensuring a pleasant taste and high product quality. Sugar content in the flesh reaches 12% on the Brix scale, making this hybrid particularly sweet and juicy. Thanks to the high flesh density and resistance to temperature fluctuations, the fruits maintain their taste and marketable qualities both in field conditions and during transportation.
The MIRTO F1 hybrid is intended for cultivation in open ground or under temporary plastic coverings, which expands its cultivation possibilities in various climatic conditions. It possesses cold resistance at early growth stages, allowing for successful early spring planting. The recommended planting density is about 5,500 plants per hectare, which contributes to optimal development and high yield.
