Apple Nicogreen

Belgian Breeding for Professional Orchards

Nicogreen is a hallmark of modern European pomology, developed by the Belgian company Better3Fruit N.V. In a global apple market that demands a perfect equilibrium between classic flavor profiles and long-term storage capabilities, this variety holds a significant position. The Belgian breeding philosophy is known for its pragmatic focus on creating cultivars that ensure both high commercial yield and structural resilience in diverse European climates.

Agronomic Profile

This variety features a medium-vigour tree, making it an excellent candidate for intensive commercial orchards. The rounded crown architecture simplifies canopy management and pruning, allowing for optimal light penetration, which is vital for achieving consistent coloration. As a winter variety, Nicogreen is engineered to maintain fruit integrity over extended periods of cold storage.

• Fruit Metrics: With an average weight of 150-200 grams, the fruits meet the 'gold standard' for modern retail, being perfectly sized for uniform packaging.
• Visual Appeal: The round-cylindrical shape paired with a light-green primary skin color gives the fruit a fresh and premium shelf appearance.
• Internal Quality: The cream-colored flesh boasts a firm texture, typical of high-quality storage apples.

Market Value

The expertise behind Better3Fruit N.V. guarantees predictable performance. Coupled with good winter hardiness, Nicogreen provides stability even in regions with moderately harsh winter conditions. It serves as a reliable solution for producers aiming for high-quality, long-storage yields that remain marketable well into the spring season.
