Description SOROKA
Actinidia is a tall vine reaching up to 21 meters in height and possessing high frost resistance (up to -25 °C). The plant prefers floor areas with partial shade, but also grows successfully on sunny spots protected from winds. Moist air is necessary for its normal development; a dry climate has a harmful effect.

Actinidia leaves droop and turn a light pinkish hue during the summer period, while retaining a bright green color. Flowers are single-fruited, white, dioecious, and attract bees for pollination. During flowering, the leaves are covered with characteristic spots.

Actinidia fruits have an elongated-cylindrical shape, a smooth light-green surface, and a mass from 11 g to 16 g. The flesh is tender, sour-sweet, with an aroma of pineapple. The ripening period begins at the end of summer – early autumn, and the yield of an adult bush can reach 15–25 kg. For cultivation, a support (arch) and tying to the surface are required, as the plant is a climber. Saplings are usually planted together with a pollinator due to the dioecious nature of the species.

Thus, actinidia is a low-maintenance variety with high yield, suitable for gardens and vegetable gardens where a moist climate and protection from strong winds are ensured.
