Description Melitopolsky Early
The Melitopolsky Early apricot is an early-ripening, high-yielding variety developed in 1947. Fruits ripen in the third decade of June — beginning of July, making it one of the first varieties of the season. The tree has vigorous growth and can reach a height of 5–6 meters, forming a moderately dense, reverse-pyramidal crown. Leaves are small, greenish in color, with serrated edges; fruiting begins on the 4th–6th year after planting. Self-fertile, it does not require additional pollinators, ensuring stable and high yields up to 55 centners per hectare.

Fruits of the Melitopolsky Early apricot have medium to above-average size — from 35 to 60 grams depending on yield. They are broadly oval in shape, slightly compressed on the sides, with thin, silk-like yellow-orange skin, often with a pinkish-red blush and small skin spots. The flesh is rich orange in color, juicy, medium density, free from fibers and gritty texture. The flavor is sweet with a distinct wine-like sweetness and characteristic apricot aroma. The stone is medium-sized, oval, and usually separates easily from the flesh.

The variety is highly cold-resistant and resistant to various diseases, making it suitable for cultivation under different climatic conditions. Melitopolsky Early apricot is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. It is primarily propagated by green, lignified cuttings, facilitating cultivation and maintenance of its variety characteristics.
