In an agricultural context, seeds may be introduced unintentionally through contaminated crop seeds. Given the delicate nature of the seedlings, they require a clean seedbed to establish successfully without competition from faster-growing weeds.

Space is necessary for optimal development, as the plant does not tolerate shading. In dense vegetation or crop stands, Lisaea is generally outcompeted and fails to produce significant biomass or viable seed quantities.

Habitat destruction and intensive land cultivation represent the primary threats to the presence of Lisaea in its native ecosystems. The expansion of agricultural land often results in the loss of traditional weed habitats.

Pathogenic threats include fungal infections common to the Apiaceae family. Rust and powdery mildew can infect the foliage, particularly in humid or stagnant air conditions, leading to reduced vitality and poor seed set.

Pests such as aphids are frequent visitors, feeding on the developing flower umbels and stems. High infestation levels can cause stunting and deformity, significantly impacting the plant's ability to reproduce effectively.

Root rot is a major issue when drainage is compromised. Waterlogging leads to rapid colonization by soil-borne pathogens, which can destroy the entire root system of these annual herbs within a short period.

Herbicides used in modern agronomy are highly effective at controlling members of this genus. Because Lisaea lacks resistance traits, it is easily suppressed by standard weed management programs utilized in cereal or vegetable production.
