VORSINSKY 2

Spring barley VORSINSKY 2® is a medium-maturing grain barley variety developed by Russian breeders of the Federal Altai Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology. The variety has a vegetative period of 80-90 days, ensuring optimal maturation time and high yield. The plant is of medium height with a semi-erect bush, and the ear is pyramid-shaped, loose, with barbed awns colored in anthocyanin, giving the variety a distinctive appearance. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 39 to 50 grams, and the protein content reaches 11.7%, making the grain valuable for various agricultural purposes.

The VORSINSKY 2® variety is characterized by high yield, which in trials reached from 32.3 to 46.8 centners per hectare. It is resistant to shattering and lodging, which facilitates harvesting and reduces crop losses. Additionally, the variety has good drought resistance and high germination energy (98%), which promotes successful growth and development of plants in various climatic conditions. However, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases such as helminthosporiosis and root rots, and under field conditions can be severely affected by powdery scab.

It is recommended for cultivation in regions with a temperate climate, in particular in the Altai Territory (Kulundinsky Steppe and Foreland of Altai) and the Tyumen Region. Thanks to its quality characteristics and adaptability, barley VORSINSKY 2® is widely used in agronomy for sowing and growing, and is valued for its malting properties, making it a demanded variety for agricultural production.
