Claudia

Wheat variety Claudia is a high-yielding, medium-maturing spring wheat with high resistance to drought, lodging, and various diseases including powdery mildew, Fusarium diseases, helminthosporiosis, and rust. This variety is characterized by high tillering and is adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, such as the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe, as well as suitable for sowing on different soil types. The yield potential of this variety reaches 9.2–9.5 tons per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural production. Wheat is one of the oldest cereal crops widely used by humans. Wheat grain is used in the brewing industry, as well as for producing pearl and wheat grits. Moreover, wheat is valued as a concentrated feed for animals due to its high content of complete protein and starch. For feeding purposes, up to 70% of all wheat grown in Russia is used, highlighting its importance in agriculture and animal husbandry. To achieve maximum yield of variety Claudia, it is recommended to use moldboard plowing combined with autumn application of mineral fertilizers. Studies show that using fertilizers at rates N32P32K32 and additional nitrogen application (N60) significantly increases yield and improves soil properties. Average yield under such agronomic practices reaches 3.89 tons per hectare, and the return on investment for mineral fertilizers is expressed as an increase in grain yield of 9.1 kg per kilogram of applied fertilizer.
