BEZENCHUKSKY 2

BEZENCHUKSKY 2 is a mid-early spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety with a vegetation period of 68 to 79 days, maturing 2-4 days earlier than the variety Preriya. Plants are characterized by being dwarf to medium height, with an intermediate bush type and anthocyanin pigmentation of flag leaf ears. The ear is cylindrical and very loose, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 46 to 55 grams. The variety belongs to the medicum type and has a grain-fodder use direction.

This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, including the Samara region, and is also permitted for growing in the West Siberian and East Siberian regions. Average yield in the Middle Volga region is about 38.2 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators reaching 62.3 centners per hectare. In the West Siberian region, average yield is lower and amounts to about 21.8 centners per hectare. Protein content in the grain varies from 10.0 to 12.3%, which makes the variety valuable in terms of quality.

The variety has medium resistance to lodging and drought, however, it is susceptible to powdery mildew and very susceptible to loose smut and septoria. In some regions, moderate resistance to loose smut is noted, but high susceptibility to helminthosporiosis and root rots. Due to its characteristics and grain quality, BEZENCHUKSKY 2 is a reliable choice for agricultural production in the specified regions.
