Wheat Vagoma

Resilient Yield in Arid Climates

The «Vahoma» winter wheat variety, developed by the Breeding and Genetics Institute (National Center of Seed Science and Cultivar Research, Ukraine), is designed for farms operating in high-risk arid zones. This variety represents the best of Southern Ukrainian breeding, focusing on performance where moisture deficit is a primary production obstacle.

Practical Field Application

Choosing «Vahoma» is a strategic move for managers aiming to balance intensive farming techniques with climate resilience. Its performance under stress conditions ensures predictable yield figures, significantly reducing the risks associated with volatile weather patterns during the grain-filling stage.

• Sowing Strategy: Ideal for mid-to-late sowing windows. The variety shows excellent tillering capacity, allowing it to adapt to autumn moisture levels effectively.
• Agronomic Performance: Stands out due to its superior lodging resistance. Its ability to maintain structural integrity in high winds makes it a reliable asset during harvest operations.
• Grain Quality: «Vahoma» produces heavy, high-quality grain with excellent test weight, meeting the standards required for the milling industry, which adds value to the final output.

By integrating «Vahoma» into a crop rotation, agricultural businesses in Southern and Central Ukraine can better safeguard their productivity against summer heat spikes and prolonged dry spells. It is a robust tool for ensuring consistent volume and quality in the grain elevator.
