Wheat Igrysta

Proven Resilience in Grain Production

The winter soft wheat variety 'Igrista', developed by the Donetsk Agricultural Research Station (NAAS), represents a robust solution for farmers operating in regions prone to high disease pressure. Unlike many intensive foreign varieties that demand aggressive chemical programs, 'Igrista' relies on its inherent genetic resistance to protect yield potential.

Key Advantages and Disease Resistance

The primary edge of this variety lies in its defensive profile. It has been bred to minimize the impact of the most common fungal threats that jeopardize wheat crops in Ukraine. 'Igrista' shows strong field resistance to:

• Yellow and Brown Rust;
• Septoria;
• Fusarium head blight;
• Powdery mildew.

The resistance to Fusarium head blight is particularly valuable, as this disease is notoriously difficult to control and significantly impacts the quality and safety of the final grain harvest.

Why Choose 'Igrista'?

This variety is a strategic fit for growers prioritizing operational efficiency and sustainable input management. By reducing the frequency and intensity of fungicide applications, producers can effectively lower the cost per ton. 'Igrista' performs consistently across typical Ukrainian soil conditions and is an excellent choice for farms looking for a 'safety-net' variety—one that maintains its yield and grain quality even when weather conditions favor fungal development. As a soft wheat, it meets the requirements of the milling and baking industries, providing a reliable and balanced raw material for food production.
