Watermelon Victoria F1 — an ultra-early hybrid developed by the Dutch breeding company Nunhems. It is characterized by a very short maturation period, which is only 55–60 days from transplanting seedlings to the final location. The plant is strong, long-vined, and densely leafy, which ensures good productivity and resistance to adverse weather conditions. The hybrid adapts well to various agronomic practices, although it requires additional mineral fertilization and strict adherence to watering schedules during early stages to achieve maximum yield and stress resistance. Victoria F1 is suitable for cultivation both in open and protected soil, primarily using the seedling method.
The fruits of Watermelon Victoria F1 have a round-oval shape and weigh on average 5–9 kg, with potential to reach up to 10 kg under favorable conditions. The rind is light green with distinctly dark green stripes and a glossy texture, dense and up to 12–14 mm thick, which reliably protects the fruit from damage and cracking. The flesh is bright red, very sweet, juicy, fiber-free, and seedless with a small amount of small seeds. Thanks to these qualities, the watermelons retain their refreshing taste and aroma even after harvest and long-term storage.
The hybrid Victoria F1 has good resistance to major diseases such as fusarium wilt and anthracnose, which significantly simplifies care and reduces the risk of yield loss. Due to its high market appeal and excellent taste, watermelons of this variety are suitable for fresh market sales, supermarkets, and processing. The compact plant forms 1–2 fruits per plant, promoting sugar and nutrient accumulation, ensuring high quality and stable yield.
