Watermelon Yantarniy

Technical Profile of the 'Yantarny' Watermelon

The 'Yantarny' watermelon from Agroholding Poisk is an early-maturing variety designed for high-efficiency production in regions with moderate climate conditions. The core genetic strategy of this variety focuses on compressing the vegetative cycle to 80–90 days from seedling emergence to physiological maturity, ensuring a reliable harvest before the end of the peak growing season.

Fruit Morphology and Performance Metrics

• Weight Characteristics: With a weight range of 1.5–3.0 kg, this variety belongs to the "personal-sized" or portioned watermelon category. For commercial producers, this is a strategic advantage, as modern retail trends favor compact, easy-to-handle fruits that eliminate the logistics and waste issues associated with larger, multi-kilogram melons.
• Internal Structure: The flesh is characterized by a vibrant red color and consistent density. The breeding program by Agroholding Poisk prioritized sugar accumulation efficiency within a short time frame, which is critical for maintaining quality in early-ripening genetics.
• Geometry: The round shape of the fruit ensures balanced stress distribution during handling and transit, significantly reducing the probability of rind damage and post-harvest losses.

Agronomic Advantages

The 'Yantarny' variety is engineered for risk mitigation in variable agricultural zones. The rapid development of its vegetative mass allows the plant to complete fruit formation before seasonal temperature drops or sunlight intensity decreases. The compact fruit size (up to 3 kg) makes it technically ideal for dense planting patterns, maximizing yield per hectare while responding efficiently to precise irrigation and fertilization protocols. This makes it an essential tool for growers aiming to capture early-market premium pricing without compromising on product consistency.
