Leningrad Red x Golden Loshitskaya. The obtained seeds were irradiated with fast neutrons. Originator of the variety — All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Plants named after I.V. Michurin. Authors: B.L. Nikitin, G.G. Nikiforova, I.N. Zolotukhina, L.A. Deineka. The variety was introduced in 1998 for the Central Chernozem region.
Tree large, fast-growing, with a medium-dense spherical crown featuring a layered branching pattern. Shoots are straight, brownish, well-leafed, of medium thickness. Buds are rounded-conical, brown, medium-sized. Leaves are large, oval-conical, light green. Leaf blade is concave, leaf margin finely toothed. Petiole is medium-sized, pigmented. Two stamens, yellow. Inflorescence: flowers triple, large, white. Stigma of the pistil rises above the stamens.
Fruits are large (5.5 g), height 2.0 cm, diameter 2.1 cm, round, with a wide pit, no indentation at the base, medium-depth ventral suture, long pedicel, easily detaches from the branch. Main fruit color is yellow, covering color is yellow, no subcutaneous dots. Fruit skin is smooth. Flesh is yellow, juicy, slightly fibrous. Juice is colorless. Taste is sour-sweet. Sensory evaluation score 4.7. Biochemical composition: dry matter content — 15.35%, sugars — 15.9%, titratable acids — 0.97%, P-active catechins — 375 mg/100g, sugar-to-acid ratio 18.5%, ascorbic acid — 10.56 mg/100g. Stone is egg-shaped, easily separates from flesh, stone-to-fruit weight ratio 8.5%.
Early-flowering and early-ripening variety. High frost resistance of the tree, shoots, and generative buds; flower buds are resistant to spring frosts. Tree variety for table use. Enters fruiting at age 6. Self-fertile. Pruning and formation features are generally similar to cherries.
High-yielding variety, with high resistance to diseases and pests. Recommended for home garden cultivation.
Advantages: self-fertility, annual, good yield. Fruits attractive in appearance, do not crack in rainy weather.
Disadvantages: tall, fast-growing tree. Fruits are yellow, for table use.
