Description VIGOROVSKAYA
Vigorovskaya Aronia is a fruit aronia variety bred at NIISs and obtained by crossing Taеzhnye Rubins with Ulgena. The plants are medium-sized shrubs reaching up to 3 m in height, with several (from three to five) skeletal branches. Leaflets are dark green, rich in anthocyanin hue, which gives them a characteristic color and increases antioxidant content.

Seamless white flowers are gathered in racemose inflorescences, while fruits are spherical in shape, slightly elongated, dark red with juicy flesh. Berries of medium size (from 0.51 to 0.53 g) have high sugar content (up to 13.9%) and vitamin C (about 45 mg/100 g), making them almost sweet with a slight bitterness. Fruits ripen in early September, and yield reaches 5–8 kg per bush.

The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, as well as resistance to various diseases. Vigorovskaya Aronia is self-incompatible, but yield increases when pollinated with pollen of other varieties. Thanks to its universal application, it is used both for fresh consumption and for winter preservation, as well as in various culinary and confectionery products.
