Tulip Van den Berg's Memory

Technical Profile of the Cultivar

The 'Van den Berg's Memory' Triumph tulip is a breeding solution focused on vegetation period predictability and high cup density. The primary value of this cultivar lies in its physiological engineering: despite its short stem height, the plant maintains ideal peduncle proportions, which is critical for preventing lodging under open-field cultivation conditions.

Phytosanitary Resistance

The variety demonstrates enhanced resistance to pathogens that typically limit bulbous crop production. A genetic barrier against Botrytis tulipae (grey mold) and powdery mildew allows for a reduction in the frequency of fungicide applications. This is particularly relevant during periods of unstable temperature regimes, when the risk of fungal infestation increases significantly.

Morphological Features

• Color Palette: A deep red tone with high pigment stability against direct UV radiation.
• Phenology: Mid-season blooming allows for flexible logistics and conveyor-style product supply.
• Stem Structure: The short growth habit provides high rigidity, minimizing the risk of mechanical damage from wind loads.

Selecting this cultivar is justified for agricultural enterprises aiming to minimize disease-related losses and achieve uniform plant height, ensuring high commercial appeal for the harvested blooms.
