Tulip Veronique Sanson

Technical Potential of the Véronique Sanson Cultivar

The Véronique Sanson Triumph tulip is the result of breeding programs focused on achieving a robust balance between structural integrity and plant immunity. From an agronomic perspective, this hybrid is a strategic choice for both greenhouse and field cultivation due to its predictable physiological cycle.

Agronomic Disease Resistance

The primary technical advantage of this cultivar is its high threshold for pathogen resistance. Unlike many early-flowering varieties, Véronique Sanson features integrated genetic defense mechanisms:

• Phytosanitary Stability: Superior resistance to grey mold (Botrytis cinerea), minimizing losses in high-humidity environments.
• Fungal Immunity: Documented tolerance to powdery mildew, downy mildew (peronospora), and oidium. This genetic resilience significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide application, preserving leaf surface integrity.

Morphology and Developmental Cycle

As a mid-season flowering variety, this hybrid demonstrates a stable developmental vector. The medium height of the stem provides the mechanical rigidity required to support the bloom without lodging. The vibrant orange pigmentation of the petals is supported by a high concentration of stable carotenoids, which resist photodegradation and maintain color saturation throughout the entire blooming period.

For the commercial grower, choosing this cultivar minimizes technical risks associated with fungal infections while maintaining the classic, symmetrical geometry of the Triumph class.
