Tulip Clusiana var. chrysantha 'Tubergen's Gem'

Botanical accent in landscape design

Tulipa clusiana var. chrysantha 'Tubergen's Gem' is a professional choice for those specializing in naturalistic gardens and rockeries. Unlike large-flowered hybrids that require annual lifting, this variety demonstrates exceptional stability and naturalization potential. For commercial nurseries and landscape studios, this translates into reduced maintenance costs: the bulbs do not require annual replacement and thrive in the same location for multiple consecutive seasons.

Practical application scenarios

• Rock gardens and alpine slides: Thanks to its low stature and high ornamental value, these plants perfectly fill the gaps between stones. The root system is adapted to well-drained soils with minimal organic matter.
• Container gardening: Its compact size allows for versatile use in mobile planters and pots. As a late-flowering variety, it is a highly effective tool for extending the "blooming conveyor" in commercial landscaping projects.
• Meadow-style mass plantings: Due to its ability to multiply via offsets, the tulip quickly creates resilient patches of color, pairing beautifully with early ground-cover perennials.

Practical agronomy tips: Planting should take place in autumn in well-lit, sunny areas. The variety requires excellent soil drainage; waterlogging during autumn and winter is a critical risk factor. The flower's appearance—a striking combination of red outer petals and a lilac hue transitioning into a golden base—demands a contrasting background, such as silver-foliaged ephemeral plants.
