Tulip Benny Neyman

Technical Profile of the Benny Neiman Tulip

The Benny Neiman cultivar is a refined member of the Triumph group, engineered for both commercial-scale forcing and outdoor landscaping. The primary focus of this hybrid’s development is robust biological hardiness, which significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide application during the growing cycle.

Phytosanitary Performance

The genetic makeup of this cultivar provides built-in resistance to critical pathogens that commonly affect bulbous crops in both greenhouse and open-field conditions:

• Systemic Resistance: high tolerance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt allows for successful cultivation even in fields with legacy disease pressures.
• Pathogen Defense: the hybrid displays significant resistance to Tomato mosaic virus and Cladosporium, preserving the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of the petals.

Morphology and Growth Cycle

As a mid-season bloomer, Benny Neiman offers a predictable developmental rhythm. The plant reaches a medium height, with a stem-to-bloom ratio optimized for structural rigidity. This engineering prevents lodging during periods of high wind or rapid growth. The intense red pigment of the petals is stabilized by a high concentration of anthocyanins, which prevents premature fading under strong solar exposure.

Practical Implementation

The dense, well-formed cup of this tulip makes it a high-value asset for both fresh-cut production and landscape design. The stability of its phenotype ensures uniform flowering across the entire batch, which is a decisive factor for B2B supply chain efficiency.
