STRIPED CHEEKS

Tomato variety "Striped Cheeks" is a medium-height plant distinguished by a unique combination of early maturity and large fruit size. The period from germination to fruiting is 110-115 days, allowing for harvest within medium timeframes. The plant is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses, making it versatile for various climatic conditions. The tomato leaves resemble potato leaves in appearance, and the plant should be trained into a single stem with removal of suckers and support for better development. The fruits are large, weighing 200 to 350 grams, with a flat-round shape and multi-chambered structure with dense flesh. Their distinctive feature is a bright bicolor coloration: ripe tomatoes are red with yellow streaks, and they acquire a raspberry-pink hue as they ripen. The fruits have a meaty texture, aroma, and slightly sweet taste, making them especially appealing for fresh consumption, vegetable salads, and juice preparation. Fruit set is good, and the variety is not prone to cracking, enhancing harvest quality. Cultivation of the "Striped Cheeks" variety requires certain agronomic practices. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in early March, with transplanting at the first true leaf stage. Seedlings should be transplanted into greenhouses in May with row spacing of 40x60 cm. At the end of the vegetative period, the apical bud should be pinched to stimulate fruiting. The variety has a prolonged fruiting period and does not require frequent watering, as excessive moisture may negatively affect the meaty texture of the fruits.
