Tomato STAR OF THE EAST

Reliable Yields of Large-Fruited Tomatoes

When selecting an indeterminate variety for professional vegetable farming or serious home gardening, two criteria take center stage: fruit size and disease resistance. The "Zvezda Vostoka" tomato from Agrofirma Poisk addresses these needs by offering a balance between vigorous growth and high commercial quality.

Key Advantages

• High Productivity: With proper agricultural practices, the variety can yield up to 100–130 tons per hectare, a remarkable figure for the large-fruited segment.
• Biological Defense: The breeders focused heavily on plant health. The variety boasts complex resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Fusarium wilt, and Cladosporium. This significantly minimizes the need for heavy fungicide applications.
• Market Appeal: Fruits weighing over 200 grams exhibit excellent transportability, a rare trait for large-fruited varieties often prone to cracking during transit.

Who Is This Variety For?

"Zvezda Vostoka" is an optimal choice for commercial growers. The fruit shape varies from round to flat-round, and its deep red color makes it highly attractive at the point of sale. A maturation period of 90–100 days allows for efficient seasonal planning and predictable results by mid-summer.

Strengths: Resistance to viral diseases and the ability to withstand long-distance transport without quality loss. Unlike many greenhouse hybrids that demand perfect environmental control, this variety is forgiving of minor care errors while maintaining consistent yields.

Cultivation Notes: Being an indeterminate type, it requires mandatory trellising and bush pruning. It is best suited for protected ground (greenhouses), where it fully realizes its genetic potential in terms of individual fruit weight.
