Tomato OFRI is a high-quality bif tomato hybrid, distinguished by its medium maturity and strong determinate bushy plant with a well-developed root system. The plant is resistant to heat, temperature fluctuations, and sunburn, allowing it to be successfully grown both in open ground and in protected soil. OFRI can be grown using bush or trellis methods, demonstrating high yield potential and excellent fruit set capability under high air temperatures.
The fruits of Tomato OFRI have a round, slightly ribbed shape, smooth surface without green shoulders, and are characterized by large size — weighing from 200 to 400 grams, with a glossy dark-red color. The flesh is dense, tasty, and free of veins, making them ideal for fresh consumption, pickling, long-term transportation, and storage. The fruits have high density and resistance to cracking, ensuring prolonged quality retention.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including fusarium and verticillium wilt, tobacco mosaic virus, yellow leaf curl virus, nematodes, as well as to blossom end rot, root rot, and cladosporeiosis. Yield per plant in open ground reaches 7–10 kg of marketable fruits, with a maturation period of approximately 60–65 days after transplanting. Tomato OFRI is an excellent choice for spring-summer cultivation due to its high productivity and resistance to adverse conditions.
