Tomato MINION

Operational Performance

The 'Mignon' tomato is a high-yielding indeterminate variety that requires skilled management for canopy formation. Whether grown in greenhouses or open fields, the plant shows vigorous development, making trellising and pruning essential for maintaining stable productivity. Due to its indeterminate growth habit, this variety allows for the efficient use of vertical space in production facilities.

Agrotechnics and Plant Health

The primary value of 'Mignon' lies in its biological robustness. It possesses built-in resistance to a wide range of pathogens, significantly reducing the need for fungicide applications. Its resistance profile includes:

• Verticillium and Fusarium wilt;
• Fusarium root rot;
• Leaf mold (Cladosporium);
• Tobacco mosaic virus and other plant viral infections.

This makes it a reliable asset for growers aiming to minimize chemical inputs in their production systems.

Harvest and Logistics

Classified as an early-maturing variety, 'Mignon' reaches the first harvest in under 90 days. The fruits weigh 80–100 grams, a "gold standard" size for whole-canning and fresh-market sales. The plum-shaped morphology ensures high packing density in crates and excellent transportability without the risk of crushing. The vibrant orange color provides high retail appeal, ensuring quick market turnover and customer satisfaction.
