Operational characteristics of an indeterminate variety

When working with the 'Pamyatny' variety, it is important to consider its genetic nature: it is a tall-growing tomato that requires strict control over bush formation. The variety was developed by the Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, ensuring stable performance when proper cultivation techniques are followed. Under normal operating conditions, the plant grows vigorously, making the installation of reliable trellises or supports an essential preparation step. Without support, the stem cannot handle the load of the fruits, which reach weights of over 200 grams.

Agrotechnical parameters and yield

• Vegetation period: 120–130 days from germination to harvest, classifying it as a mid-late variety.
• Fruit dimensions: Round shape, orange color, high marketability.
• Maintenance requirements: The indeterminate type implies a constant need for pruning suckers; ignoring this procedure will lead to dense canopy growth and a reduction in average fruit weight.

Cultivation maintenance is standard for indeterminate varieties, but requires close attention to irrigation and fertilization during the fruit set period, as the large-fruited nature taxes the plant's resources. Unlike hybrids, this variety allows for seed collection while retaining varietal traits for the following season, which is a significant advantage for long-term planting strategy.
