Tomato Malinka Star

Focus on Large Fruits and Marketability

The pink-fruited tomato «Malinka Star» from the Italian breeding company Cora Seeds S.R.L is designed for farmers specializing in premium fresh produce. As an indeterminate variety, it is ideally suited for protected ground (poly-tunnels and glass greenhouses), where the crop can reach its full potential of 70–100 tons per hectare.

Agronomic Advantages

The core value of this hybrid lies in the combination of a large fruit size (over 200 grams) and exceptional shelf life. Unlike many pink tomato varieties, «Malinka Star» maintains its firmness for over 30 days after harvest, which is critical for logistics. Producers choose this hybrid for several key objectives:

• Reduced Fungicide Costs: Genetic resistance to fusarium, verticillium, and tomato mosaic virus minimizes crop loss risks in stressful conditions.
• Market Appeal: Its round shape and intense pink color make it highly sought after in retail chains.
• Optimized Harvesting Cycles: Early maturation (up to 90 days) allows for efficient planning of market supply during the first rotation.

The plant requires precise pruning and an intensive fertilization program, as its large-fruit load places high demands on the root system. When managed with proper agrotechnology, the hybrid displays excellent fruit set even during temperature fluctuations, simplifying greenhouse management during off-season cycles.
