Tomato Prazdnichnyi

Crop Architecture: Insights into the 'Prazdnichniy' Variety

The 'Prazdnichniy' tomato, developed by NVP Agro-Nedra, is a specialized determinate variety engineered for the production of cherry-type fruits. In intensive farming systems, managing the vegetative biomass of such varieties requires a precise agronomic approach.

Technical Specifications and Morphology

• Growth Habit: Determinate. This genetic trait limits vertical stem growth, simplifying field management. Practically, it eliminates the need for complex high-trellis support systems, thereby significantly reducing labor costs.
• Vegetation Cycle: 120–130 days from emergence to harvest. Classified as a mid-late variety, this timeline is a crucial variable for effective crop rotation planning and precise transplanting scheduling.
• Fruit Morphology: The egg-shaped fruit structure ensures an ideal ratio between flesh and locular cavities. With a weight of up to 20 grams, these tomatoes exhibit high skin integrity, essential for minimizing cracking during transit and maintaining post-harvest quality.

Field Application

Choosing a determinate growth habit for small-fruited varieties makes 'Prazdnichniy' a highly efficient tool for commercial vegetable production. The plant's compactness combined with high cluster density streamlines both manual and mechanical harvesting operations. The reliability of the breeding work by NVP Agro-Nedra ensures batch consistency, a key requirement for both the fresh produce market and the processing industry, where fruit sizing is a primary profitability factor.
