Description GRIN BIF
Tomato Green Bif F1 is a medium-early indeterminate hybrid intended for cultivation in protected ground. The period from germination to full ripening of red fruits is 115-120 days, and to the first harvest of green fruits with ripening flesh — 100-105 days. The plant is strong, generative, with shortened internodes; the first flower cluster forms above the 7th-9th leaf, and each cluster bears 3-4 fruits. Fruits are flat-round, ribbed, multi-chambered, dense, deep red, weighing 210-380 grams, characterized by high storability and excellent market appearance. Ripening begins from the inside, allowing harvest at the stage of light red color with rich flavor combining sweetness and mild acidity with a prolonged aftertaste. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major tomato diseases, including tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), fusarium and verticillium wilt, cladosporiosis, as well as nematodes. Due to this, Green Bif F1 is suitable for industrial cultivation and ensures a stable yield exceeding 30 kg per square meter. Plants are recommended to be trained into a single stem with controlled fruit number to improve yield quality. The optimal planting scheme is 70x40 cm. Green Bif F1 tomatoes are versatile: they are excellent for fresh consumption, especially in salads and as dessert, and are tasty when fried or baked. Due to high dry matter content and dense structure, the tomatoes withstand transportation well and can be stored for up to 20 days. Additionally, they are suitable for processing into juices, purées, ketchups, tomato paste, and winter salad preparations. For cultivation, seeds should be sown in seedlings at the end of March to early April, followed by transplanting after 40-45 days, under optimal lighting, temperature, and watering conditions.
