Description

Tomato Forshmak is a medium-maturing indeterminate variety, suitable for cultivation in plastic and glass greenhouses, and in southern regions also suitable for open ground in row culture. Plants reach a height of 180-200 cm and more, have moderate leafiness and a strong root system. Seedlings should be sown at the beginning of March with transplanting in the phase of the first true leaf, requiring additional lighting during growth. Transplanting seedlings into greenhouses occurs at the end of April, when plants are 50-55 days old. Proper plant formation requires staking and training into a single stem with removal of all suckers, as well as pinching the growth point at the end of vegetation, leaving 7-8 trusses. The first flower cluster forms above the 11th-12th leaf, subsequent ones every three leaves.

Tomato Forshmak fruits have an original cube-shaped form with ribbed surface. Immature fruits are light green with dark green stripes, while ripe fruits turn red with orange stripes. Fruit weight ranges from 60 to 90 grams. A distinctive feature of this variety is high dry matter content, thick-fleshed, succulent pulp, and nearly hollow seed chambers, making the fruits especially suitable for stuffing. Flavor quality is high, with loose, easily removable pulp.

Yield of this variety ranges from 8 to 10 kg per square meter depending on growing conditions. Recommended planting scheme — 40x60 cm, ensuring optimal plant development and fruiting. This variety is medium-early, with a maturation period of approximately 110-120 days from emergence of seedlings. Due to its characteristics and qualities, Tomato Forshmak is an excellent choice for greenhouse cultivation aimed at obtaining high-quality fruits for fresh consumption and culinary use.
