Tomato FONDANELLO

Genetic Protection and Yield Potential of Fondanello

The "Fondanello" tomato from the Aelita agricultural firm is a breeding product focused on overcoming typical pathogens in both protected and open ground environments. The technical value of this hybrid lies in its comprehensive resistance, engineered at the genomic level. Resistance to verticillium and fusarium wilt allows for cultivation in fields with accumulated soil infections, where other large-fruited tomatoes often suffer from critical biomass loss.

Biometric Indices and Fruit Quality

A key feature is the marketable fruit weight, which exceeds 200 grams. The round shape ensures uniform load distribution during transport, which is critical for commercial production. The firm skin, combined with pronounced resistance to nematodes, makes this hybrid a technological solution for the pink-fruited tomato market segment.

• Phytosanitary Barrier: A high level of protection against tomato mosaic virus and typical viral diseases eliminates the need for aggressive chemical treatments during early growth stages.
• Transportability: Due to balanced flesh density, the fruits maintain their marketability under mechanical stress.
• Agrotechnical Advantages: The yield potential is achieved in both greenhouse and open-field conditions when maintaining proper agricultural standards.

Choosing "Fondanello" is a strategy to mitigate crop failure risks caused by soil pathogens while maintaining a high output of large-fruited produce.
