Tomato Dyna

Technical Specifications and Plant Architecture

The 'Daina' tomato, developed by the Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK), is a determinate variety engineered for high-efficiency early-season production. The plant’s determinate growth habit limits excessive vegetative mass, ensuring that energy is directed primarily toward simultaneous fruit ripening.

Performance and Fruit Quality

The variety is tailored for both fresh market and industrial processing. With an average fruit weight of 80–100 grams and a 4–6 locule internal structure, the tomatoes possess the structural integrity required for long-distance transport and shelf-life stability.

• Maturity: A rapid growth cycle of up to 90 days allows for successful harvests even in shorter growing seasons.
• Yield Potential: Under optimal conditions, the yield reaches 70–100 tons per hectare, demonstrating high production density.
• Handling: The uniform round shape is ideal for automated grading and packing lines.

From an agronomical standpoint, 'Daina' is designed to reduce labor intensity. The determinate nature of the plant minimizes the need for extensive pruning and staking, making it an efficient choice for large-scale operations. Its early maturity serves as an effective biological barrier against late-season blight and other common environmental stressors.
