Tomato CXD 219

The Campbell’s Legacy in Tomato Breeding

The history of the American brand Campbells Seeds is inextricably linked to industrial vegetable processing. The “СХД 219” (SHD 219) variety is a classic representative of breeding for the processing industry segment, where cultivation efficiency and consistent performance are paramount. Developed in the USA, this hybrid embodies decades of the company’s expertise in creating tomatoes capable of maintaining their commercial appearance and nutritional value after mechanical harvesting.

Production Characteristics and Agronomics

“СХД 219” belongs to the determinate type of tomatoes, which defines its primary role in agribusiness — delivering a uniform, concentrated harvest. The ripening period of 120–130 days allows for well-planned supply chains to processing facilities. The key parameters that make this variety sought after by professional farmers include:

• Plant Type: Determinate, ensuring compact plant architecture and ease of management.
• Vegetation Period: 120–130 days, optimal for regions with a distinct warm growing season.
• Logistical Potential: The variety's breeding focused on high transportability, minimizing losses during transit from fields to processing plants.

This variety is frequently chosen by farmers focusing on long-term contracts with the food industry. Thanks to its robust genetic structure, the “СХД 219” fruits are resistant to damage during transport, which is critical for maintaining fruit integrity until processing. For agricultural enterprises utilizing mechanical harvesters, the determinate growth type is a distinct advantage, as it facilitates machinery calibration and improves harvest purity.

In the modern market, where demand for quality raw materials for juices, pastes, and canning is consistently rising, “СХД 219” from Campbells Seeds remains a reliable choice. This is time-tested seed material designed to provide predictable results in large-scale industrial operations.
