Big Beef Tomato is a medium-early indeterminate hybrid developed by the Dutch company Seminis, suitable for cultivation both in open fields and in greenhouses. The plant is robust, tall, reaching up to 1.8 meters in height, with large leaves and an open bush form. For optimal growth, it is recommended to grow the tomato from seedlings, provide support for stems, and pinch back shoots if necessary during vigorous growth. The variety exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including fusarium and verticillium wilt, nematodes, leaf mold, cladosporiosis, and tobacco mosaic virus, as well as tolerance to short-term temperature fluctuations. The fruits of Big Beef tomato have a flat-round shape, smooth and firm surface, and are large in size — average weight ranges from 280 to 330 grams. The tomatoes possess excellent aroma and high quality, making them popular for fresh consumption as well as for processing into sauces, juices, dressings, and freezing. The fruits are characterized by good storability and transportability, which is especially important for fresh market sales. To achieve a high yield, proper care is required: abundant but infrequent watering, soil loosening, regular feeding (at least once a month after transplanting seedlings), as well as preventive measures against phytophthora and pests. It is recommended to grow in ridges in open fields or in heated glass or plastic greenhouses. Big Beef tomato does not require pinching, which simplifies plant care and increases cultivation efficiency.
