A Strategic Choice for Commercial Vegetable Growing

The "Valyutny" variety, developed by breeder Vladimir Nikolaevich Dederko, is designed for growers who prioritize shelf life and marketability in the large-fruited tomato segment. As a determinate variety, it directs energy efficiently into fruit development without requiring complex pruning, simplifying management in open-field or hoop-house cultivation.

Agronomics and Practical Application

The primary goal of choosing "Valyutny" is to secure a consistent yield with a long sales window. With a maturity period of 120–130 days, this mid-late variety allows producers to extend their market presence well after early hybrids have finished, taking advantage of sustained demand for high-quality tomatoes.

• Transportation: The dense flesh of the fruit ensures excellent transportability, allowing long-distance shipping without bruising or loss of quality — a critical requirement for supply chains.
• Storage: The ability to maintain marketability for over 30 days post-harvest provides growers with price-setting flexibility. You are not forced to sell immediately at low margins, allowing you to hold inventory until market conditions improve.
• Harvest Efficiency: The round shape and consistent weight (over 200 grams) make this variety perfect for standard packaging. The concentrated fruit set optimizes labor costs during the harvesting process.

"Valyutny" is best suited for farms targeting the fresh produce market. Its resistance to cracking, provided basic irrigation management is maintained, makes it a reliable asset for those seeking a balance between heavy fruit weight and long-term shelf stability.
