Description Caporal
Tomato Caporal is an early-maturing determinate hybrid with a maturation period of 50 to 65 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant exhibits strong growth and moderate leafiness, providing reliable protection against sunburn on fruits. Plants are resistant to major diseases such as verticillium, fusarium, and stemphylium, contributing to stable and high yields even under adverse conditions. The variety also demonstrates good fruit set at high temperatures and drought tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation in open ground. Tomato Caporal fruits have a plum or egg-shaped form, smooth and firm texture. Fruit mass ranges from 79 to 150 grams, with high uniformity in size and weight. Immature fruits are light green, turning to a uniform, deep red upon ripening. Due to high resistance to cracking, fruits maintain their market appearance and quality during transport and storage. The variety is characterized by high yield with up to 97% marketable fruit output, making it attractive for commercial cultivation and processing. Tomato Caporal is ideal for processing and canning due to its firm flesh and stable fruit color. For successful cultivation, seeds should be sown in March into slightly compacted soil, followed by mulching with peat or soil layer, watering with warm water, and covering with plastic film until seedlings emerge. Afterward, seedlings should be placed in a well-lit area with optimal temperature for growth. High transportability and storability of fruits allow this variety to be used for fresh consumption as well as for industrial processing.
