The tomato variety "Black Sugar" is a medium-ripening indeterminate variety intended for cultivation in greenhouses and polytunnels. The plant reaches a height of up to 2.3 meters, has moderate leafiness, and forms 4-5 fruits per cluster. The fruits have a flat-round ribbed shape, weighing 250–300 grams. Immature fruits are green with a dark green spot, turning dark brown with a thin skin upon ripening. The flesh is juicy, succulent, and aromatic, with elevated sugar content and barely perceptible acidity, giving them a unique flavor. The variety is characterized by high yield—up to 8–9 kg per square meter—and large, decorative fruits. Due to its high content of antioxidants, lycopene, and vitamin C, consumption of "Black Sugar" tomatoes supports cardiovascular health and immune function, and also possesses aphrodisiac properties. The fruits are suitable for both salad use and processing. Cultivation requires traditional seedling care with mandatory weekly fertilization using potassium humate and hardening off before transplanting into greenhouses. It is recommended to train the plant as a single stem and remove adjacent leaves during the ripening of the first cluster to improve fruit set. Tomatoes thrive well in polycarbonate greenhouses with sliding panels, which promotes effective pollination and even fruit ripening. The variety exhibits high seed germination and stable yield formation.
