Tomato AFRICAN NECKLACE

Genetic Potential and Plant Architecture

The "African Necklace" (Африканское Ожерелье) tomato from Heterosis Breeding (Гетерозисная селекция) is an indeterminate hybrid requiring single-stem training for precise vegetative control. The vigorous growth habit allows for efficient use of vertical greenhouse space, ensuring optimal light exposure for each cluster. A key biological trait of this cultivar is its high fruit-set intensity, maintained even under fluctuating temperature conditions.

Fruit Morphology and Commercial Value

The breeding strategy focused on a distinct plum-shaped fruit and a consistent yellow pigment, indicating a high carotenoid content. With individual fruit weights up to 20 grams, this variety falls into the cherry tomato category. A major technical advantage is the combination of a firm skin and balanced flesh structure, allowing for a shelf life exceeding 30 days without degradation. This makes the hybrid a highly practical choice for commercial production focused on long-distance logistics.

Agronomic Cycle

The vegetation period spans 100–120 days, classifying this hybrid as mid-season. Stable performance is guaranteed by the originator (Heterosis Breeding, TPK Rosti), who integrated high resistance to primary nightshade pathogens into the genetic profile. Field and greenhouse deployment requires mandatory trellising to support the plant's continuous growth cycle.
