Description MENUE
Tomato 'Menue' is a high-yielding hybrid with an indeterminate growth type, intended for cultivation under greenhouse conditions. Plants are medium-height and weakly branched, forming simple clusters with 7-9 fruits. Fruits have round or slightly flattened-round shape, smooth or slightly ribbed surface, weighing from 70 to 140 grams. Their color is uniformly red, with 4-7 chambers, ensuring attractive appearance and high market quality. Fruits possess good flavor and can be stored at 14-18 °C for up to 45 days without loss of quality, making them suitable for long-distance transport and market sales. Ripening period of the hybrid varies from early to medium: fruiting begins approximately on day 83-118 after emergence of seedlings, depending on growing conditions. Yield ranges from 3.6 to 8.8-18 kg per square meter, indicating high productivity of the variety. It is recommended to form plants into single stems with removal of suckers for optimal development and fruiting. Planting density is 2.5 plants per square meter in glass-covered greenhouses and 3-4 plants per square meter in plastic-covered ones. Hybrid 'Menue' exhibits complex resistance to a range of diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, gall nematode, fusarium wilt, and other viral diseases. However, it may be susceptible to gray mold, bacterial wilt, and powdery mildew. Thanks to resistance to major pathogens and high fruit storability, this tomato allows obtaining ecologically clean harvests with minimal use of chemical protection agents. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in winter greenhouses during winter-spring and autumn-winter crops, expanding its usability under various climatic conditions.
